Description: The Castrol Optigear EP range consists of mineral oils for high-performance gear lubrication, containing Castrol's advanced additive system which provides plastic deformation (PD) resistance and improves surface finish. Performance is enhanced when gears and bearings are subjected to high loads. Castrol Optigear EP exceeds the minimum requirements according to DIN 51517, Part 3 Class CLP for gear oils and also complies with the FZG 'Sprungtest' under the GL 5 specification. Application: The combination of PD additives, CLP and FZG 'sprung test' GL 5 makes the product particularly suitable for extreme lubrication conditions. These occur predominantly in gears and bearings with frequent starts and stops, as is the case in robotics and textiles. The combination of high performance, FZG 'sprung test' GL 5 properties, elastomer compatibility, and low coefficient of friction makes this product range unique among industrial gear lubricants.
