Description Castrol Tribol™ GR 100 PD (formerly Longtime™ PD) is a range of lithium-based greases with highly refined mineral oils enhanced with the MicroFlux Trans (MFT) additive system. The MFT additive technology provides optimal protection against wear and an extremely low coefficient of friction even in extreme situations of pressure, vibration, and shock loads, at high or low speeds and with disparate micro-smoothing of friction surfaces. Under intense load conditions, the MFT additive components are activated to improve their surface friction properties through plastic deformation. The products derived from this organic reaction become a component of the tribopolymer system. Unlike conventional lubricants, the tribopolymers formed by MFT are long-chain compounds with excellent lubricating and adhesive properties. This means that the load-bearing surface has been improved, and the hydrodynamic lubrication film is easier to maintain. This physico-chemical reaction achieves surface micro-smoothing without loss of material from the friction surfaces.
