Applications

What is the operating temperature range of Molykote 44 Medium?

-40 °C to +200 °C in continuous service. Short peaks up to 230 °C are acceptable during relubrication intervals. Actual service range depends on load and speed — contact Lubricalia if operating near the upper limit.

What is the difference between Molykote 44 Light, Medium and Heavy?

All three share the lithium + ester oil + PTFE base and the same temperature range; they differ in base oil viscosity. Light: precision components at high speed. Medium: general purpose in gears, bearings and plain bushings. Heavy: high load, low speed, open gears.

Is Molykote 44 Medium NSF H1 food-grade?

No. Molykote 44 Medium is not NSF H1 certified for incidental food contact. For those applications use a food-grade H1-certified grease.

Is it compatible with plastics and elastomers?

Compatible with most engineering thermoplastics (PTFE, PEEK, POM, polyamide). With standard NBR elastomers the ester base may cause mild swelling; for seals in prolonged contact use FKM / Viton or high-quality EPDM.
