The Castrol Alphasyn™ EP range are industrial gear lubricants formulated with synthetic bases of the polyalphaolefin (PAO) type and extreme pressure additives based on sulphur/phosphorus, which provide excellent results in gears subject to high or repetitive loads.
Applications
The Alphasyn EP range has been formulated for all types of enclosed gears, including those subjected to high and shock loads, and for bearings where extreme pressure properties are required.
They are indicated for gears requiring resistance to micro-pitting and extreme environmental conditions, such as mining and paper manufacturing. The use of PAO-type synthetic bases provides a high inherent viscosity index and very low pour points, making them suitable for use in a wide temperature range. The Alphasyn EP range is fully compatible with nitrile, silicone, and fluoropolymer elastomers. Alphasyn EP is classified according to DIN Classification type CLP.
The Alphasyn EP range meets the following requirements:
DIN 51517 Part 3 AGMA 9005
- D94 US Steel 224
