Description Castrol Magna™ CL (formerly known as Castrol Cresta™ VA and Cresta™ SHS) are lubricants formulated from high-quality mineral bases with friction and lubricity modifiers, improving film strength and reducing friction. Water is emulsified by the additives in Magna CL, preventing wash-off on metal surfaces, offering additional protection against corrosion and wear in the presence of moisture. Magna CL 1000 is formulated from cylinder bases achieving suitable characteristics of high flash point and oxidation stability. It possesses good demulsibility properties for the lubrication of cylinders in high-speed steam engines. Application Magna CL is designed for the lubrication of reciprocating gas compressors. Lubrication of cylinders and valves in steam engines. The high viscosities of Magna CL can be used in worm gear reducers. Magna CL 1000 can be used where lubrication of extremely heavy gears and bearings at very low speeds is required.
